Early Childhood Center:
Toddler (age 2), Preschool, Pre-Kindergarten

Sacred Heart's Early Childhood Center is the first stepping stone on the path to an outstanding private Catholic education.

Built in 2007, on its own dedicated piece of Sacred Heart’s 125-acre campus, the ECC is the ideal environment for the development and growth of toddler, preschool, and pre-kindergarten children.

The Early Childhood Center offers a comprehensive academically based program that includes full day toddler, preschool, and pre-Kindergarten classes. Spanish, music, library, and physical education are integrated into the early childhood’s weekly schedule.

Nurturing Young Minds: A Comprehensive Early Childhood Program

Our comprehensive curriculum at Sacred Heart begins with our Early Childhood Program, 2-year old toddlers through Pre-Kindergarten, which is proudly part of the highly esteemed Lynch Foundation Early Education Initiative. The Lynch Foundation provides families access to high-quality early education programs within the Archdiocese of Boston. By generously donating developmentally appropriate curriculum, materials, and training, the Lynch Foundation ensures that our teachers and administrative leaders are providing only the best learning methods to their students. They achieve this through one-on-one coaching with classroom teachers, monthly observations and meetings, and opportunities for professional development throughout the year. It is our passionate and highly qualified teachers who truly make this program exceptional. We remain dedicated to providing a nurturing and stimulating program where our youngest learners can thrive.

We are committed to fostering the social and emotional well-being of each child, recognizing that a supportive environment is essential for effective learning. Our engaging program encourages children to learn through play while achieving high academic goals. We are proud to partner with The Lynch Foundation and implement the Opening the World of Learning (OWL) curriculum at the toddler, preschool, and pre-k levels. This comprehensive and integrated approach is designed to develop language and early literacy skills. Beyond academic growth, OWL promotes the development of personal and social competencies through enriching, hands-on activities. As our children advance through each grade level, we enhance their literacy development by incorporating structured components of phonemic awareness and phonics through the implementation of the Heggerty Program. We use a comprehensive math curriculum, called Building Blocks, which is designed to nurture children’s early mathematical development by integrating educational content into daily routines. And, Handwriting Without Tears, the letter formation program, uses multisensory techniques to fully engage young learners. Additionally, religious education plays an integral role in our curriculum, with a particular emphasis on fostering spiritual growth and moral development from an early age.

Sacred Heart extends heartfelt gratitude to the members of the Lynch Foundation for supporting our Early Childhood Program at Sacred Heart.
