Sacred Heart Early Childhood Center Gets $100K Refresh Ahead of School Ye

Open House for Prospective Students Scheduled for August 25th

August 17, 2022 (Kingston, MA) -- As the countdown to the start of school begins, the staff and administration at Sacred Heart School in Kingston are busy getting ready for September. Courtesy of a $100,000 grant from the Lynch Foundation, its Early Childhood Center (ECC) – which offers preschool through kindergarten for students starting as early as age 2 – is getting significant updates to its curriculum, classrooms and teacher support.

The Lynch Foundation's Early Education Initiative is a comprehensive strategy to support the launch and redesign of early childhood programs across the Archdiocese of Boston Catholic Schools. This unique initiative has leveraged $3.6 million to date in private philanthropic investment toward the establishment of new high-quality early childhood classrooms and the redesign of existing early childhood classrooms.

As part of the grant, the Sacred Heart ECC will benefit from new classroom design, furniture and materials; refreshed, high-quality curricula; and professional development for teachers through the Summer Learning Institute for Teachers and monthly coaching and mentoring offerings.

“We’re honored to be chosen by the Lynch Foundation as a grant recipient,” said ECC director, Sarah Chick. “We recognize the important role early childhood education plays in setting a foundation for a love of learning and a strong Catholic education, and are excited to further enhance the experience we offer our students and their families.”

Sacred Heart School has a seven-decade legacy of providing high quality Catholic education to South Shore families. Serving students ages 2 through Grade 8, the school is currently enrolling for the 2022-2023 school year. Prospective families are invited to attend an Open House at the Early Childhood Center at 251 Bishops Highway in Kingston on August 25th from 2-3:30 p.m. Learn more by calling 781-585-2290.
