TUITION & FINANCIAL AID FAQs

  • Is financial aid considered a loan? Are families expected to pay back a portion of the amount received?

No. Financial Aid is a grant awarded to the student and their family. The annual tuition is reduced by the amount of the financial aid award.

  • When are the financial aid application and decision deadlines?

Initial applications for financial aid can be submitted between November 1st and April 1st and will be determined on a needs basis starting with returning families.  Applications after April 1st will be reviewed on a first come first serve basis and as availability of funds allows.

Notifications on financial aid will begin in March.

  • Are academic accomplishments taken into account in awarding financial aid?

No. Grants are awarded to students whose family exhibits financial need as determined by information submitted on the financial aid application through the FACTS Grant and Aid Assessment program.

  • How are financial aid and/or scholarship awards applied to the tuition statement?

The Sacred Heart Finance Department will deduct your child’s scholarship and/or grant from our total tuition. The balance is then divided over the number of payments as indicated in the payment option selected.
