Good Afternoon ECC, Elementary, and Middle School Families,
Our prayer today is for the men and women, our great-grandparents, grandparents, parents, and family members who served this country in war and peace to preserve our democracy. Let us pray for those families whose loved ones returned as 'wounded warriors' as well as for those who did not return. All of our service men and women carry with them the prayers of a grateful nation.
We have had a wonderfully productive and happy week at Sacred Heart!
The LEGO Club started on Tuesday with students from Kindergarten through Fifth Grade. The children had a great time!
Atomic Adam from Mad Science offered a fun presentation here last night! Students in the audience and student volunteers enjoyed it very much as did I.
Our Veterans Day service was lovely today. I’m very proud of our 6th graders. Ms. Raftery and Miss Higgins directed the 6th graders through the presentation. To honor the veterans whom our Sacred Heart families asked us to remember, our middle school students placed flags in front of the Elementary/Middle School and offered a prayer of remembrance and gratitude for each. Please check our Facebook post tomorrow honoring our SH family members and friends who served our country. As you enjoy this long weekend with your family please remember our veterans and their devotion to our country.
Progress reports went home at the ECC this week. We are very proud of our littlest "Saints". This is a time of wonderful social growth and development of our young students. Please take a moment to review your child's report and if you would like to have a conference with your child's teacher kindly fill out the schedule enclosed in their envelope. As Thanksgiving draws near, discussions of being thankful and giving to those in need are the forefront of Sacred Heart's mission. Please be on the lookout for more information regarding our ECC Thanksgiving Feast on Monday, November 21st.
Elementary and middle school conferences will take place during the afternoon of the early dismissal day in December.
Crowdfunding update: students and parents have done a great job getting their pages set up. In a plot twist this morning, second grade stole the lead from first grade as the top earner! Instructions on how to create your crowdfunding page were sent home last Friday and can be found attached below. If you have any questions or need help, please reach out to Mrs. Schumann ( aschumann@
Please take a moment to review the NWEA scores which are attached. I am extremely proud of our students!
Our Thanksgiving Food Drive concludes next week. Thank you to those who have donated and thank you to those who will donate next week.
Sunday, November 13th is World Kindness Day. It is an opportunity for us to remember to be kind whenever possible. As Mark Twain said, “The best way to cheer yourself up is to try to cheer somebody else up.”
Thank you,
Sister Lydia, Mrs. Chick, and Mrs. Harris
